Chasing The Storm
Photographing in a stormy and cloudy weather can be as exciting as shooting during a clear and sunny day. The overcast shadow, the mist, together with the mystic clouds often creates a moody atmosphere and gives the photograph a very rare scenery. I like this particular view over the lake district of Windermere with the green hills over the water beyond. The color of the grey water reflected by the sky provides an interesting phenomena that exposes the green in the middle. Framing the main subject along the horizon while creating a series of layers from top, middle and bottom.
Below is another view which I titled as “The Rushing Storm” is presented in black and white. The layers of the cloud above this photograph creates an interesting drama that shows a heavy storm is approaching from the open water.About: Paul Chong is a Malaysia born landscape fine art photographer and artist currently base in Shanghai.
